My Story
A few years ago, I reached a point where I knew I couldn't keep living the way I was living.
From the outside, life looked busy. I worked long hours, took care of everyone else, and just kept moving because that's what I had always done. But somewhere along the way, I had lost myself. I was surviving, but I wasn't really living.
One afternoon, a dear friend invited me to see a shaman. On the drive home, I remember looking over at her and saying, "I think I want to try yoga." At the time, neither of us had any idea that one simple sentence would quietly change the direction of my life.
I didn't walk into my first yoga class searching for enlightenment, and I certainly wasn't planning on becoming a yoga teacher. I was simply hoping to find a little peace.
Slowly, something began to change.
Yoga became more than movement. It became the place where I learned to slow down, breathe deeply, listen to myself, and begin healing.
For so many years, I poured so much of myself into everyone else that I forgot I needed care too. Yoga gently reminded me that I mattered.
Over time, my life changed in ways I never expected. I lost more than 150 pounds, but the greatest transformation wasn't physical. It was the relationship I began building with myself. For the first time in my life, I started treating myself with the same compassion I had always given so freely to everyone else.
That journey eventually led me to become a certified yoga teacher—not because I was looking for a new career, but because I wanted to share with other women what yoga had quietly given to me.
Quiet Lane Wellness grew from that journey.
It isn't about having life all figured out. I certainly don't.
It's about creating a gentle place where women can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and remember that healing doesn't always happen in big, dramatic moments. Sometimes it begins with one class. One breath. One quiet decision to choose yourself.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected, or simply longing for a softer way of living, I hope you'll find a little peace here.
If my story reminds you of your own, I hope you'll stay awhile.
Whether you're beginning again, finding your footing, or simply taking a deep breath after a long season, you're welcome here.
Welcome to Quiet Lane.
What Guides My Work
Meet people where they are.
That is probably the simplest way I can say it.
I don’t believe anyone needs to be flexible, experienced, confident, or have everything figured out before they begin.
Whether I’m teaching yoga or offering wellness support, I try to start by listening.
I pay attention to what is actually needed instead of assuming I already know.
In yoga, that means making room for different bodies, different energy levels, and different ways of moving. Some days may include more movement. Other days may call for rest, breath, or simply slowing down.
In wellness support, it means giving someone room to talk honestly about what feels present without pressure to have the right words or a perfect plan.
I want people to feel comfortable being honest about where they are.
A big part of the way I work also comes from my own life experience.
Grief, change, uncertainty, long seasons of work, healing, yoga, and learning to listen to myself have all shaped the way I support others.
I don’t claim to have all the answers.
What I try to offer is simple:
Listen first.
Pay attention.
Keep it practical.
Meet people where they are.
The Path That Shaped Me
A Journey of Learning
Quiet Lane Wellness wasn’t built by one person.
The first person to introduce me to yoga was Johanna. She welcomed me into a practice that changed the direction of my life. What began as simply showing up for yoga became something much bigger for me — learning to slow down, pay attention, and begin listening to myself.
As my practice deepened, I continued my education through YogaRenew, where I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. I later continued studying Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga, practices that taught me even more about slowing down and meeting the body where it is.
Along the way, I also spent sixteen weeks working with a shaman. That experience introduced me to different ways of thinking about nature, reflection, awareness, and the way we move through different seasons of life.
Quiet Lane Wellness is not a shamanic practice, but parts of what I learned during that time still influence the way I approach this work — with openness, curiosity, and respect for each person’s individual experience.
I’ve also been fortunate to continue learning from teachers like Ronen. His calm way of teaching reminds me that being a teacher doesn’t mean being finished learning.
And some of my greatest teachers have had nothing to do with a classroom.
Grief, anxiety, uncertainty, chronic illness, change, and learning to reconnect with myself have shaped me just as deeply as any certification ever could. Those experiences have taught me things no textbook could.
I don’t claim to have all the answers.
What I try to offer others is what others once offered me: time, attention, compassion, curiosity, and respect.
Quiet Lane Wellness exists because many people have generously shared what they knew with me, and because my own life has taught me things I now feel ready to share with others.
